Department of Communication presents student awards

Ashley Hall May 3, 2019

Waynesburg University’s Department of Communication honored students for their academic success and commitment to their field during a special event Friday, April 26.

Each year, the Department of Communication awards three seniors who are in good academic standing and extremely involved in the department the distinction of Outstanding Graduate. This year’s recipients included Emily Bennett, Luke Goodling and Ashley Hall.

Additionally, eight seniors of the prestigious communication honor society, Lambda Pi Eta, were recognized and presented with their honor cords to wear during commencement. Following recognition of the seniors, six new students were inducted into the honor society.

Recognition was given to students who have excelled academically by earning a 3.5 GPA or higher, as well as students who made the Fall 2018 Presidents’ Athletic Conference (PAC) Honor Roll.

All of the department’s co-curricular activities, such as design club, Mad Anthony yearbook, Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ), WCTC-14, WCYJ-FM, Waynesburg University Sports Network and The Yellow Jacket celebrated their achievements and awards received throughout the academic year.
