Nine students to serve in Antietam, Maryland

Nine Waynesburg University students will travel to Antietam, Maryland, to serve during Spring Break. Led by Courtney Dennis, associate director of the Paul R. Stewart museum, and Rea Redd, director of the Eberly Library, the group will depart Sunday, March 3, and return Friday, March 8.

Students will photograph and tag objects in the Friends of Tolson’s Chapel, as well as perform maintenance to the chapel cemetery. They will also help with archaeological excavations with Little Antietam Creek, Inc., and volunteer at Harpers Ferry, the Antietam Historical Association and Historic Shepardstown.

  • Andrew Lugo, transfer criminal justice administration major from Rockaway Boro, New Jersey (Morris Hills High School)
  • Anthony Medina, freshman psychology major from Fort Lee, New Jersey (Fort Lee High School)
  • Alexandra Morar, freshman political science major from Boardman, Ohio (Boardman High School)
  • Christopher Sekanick, sophomore history major from Moon Township, Pennsylvania (Moon Area High School)
  • Brendon Stead, sophomore history major from Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania (Central Catholic High School)
