Waynesburg University’s Department of Business Administration has formed an Advisory Board to review and further develop the goals, objectives and curriculum of the University’s undergraduate business program.

Convening biannually, the Advisory Board will be comprised of Waynesburg University business alumni ranging from 1950 to 2018 to ensure that diverse viewpoints from various stages of a professional’s career are represented. The inaugural meeting will be held Monday, Oct. 22.

This is a great opportunity for us to engage with business leaders who understand and appreciate our mission of faith, service and learning.

Dr. McClung

“We look forward to the counsel we will receive on how, we as faculty, can best serve and facilitate the growth of our students,” said Dr. Gordon McClung, chair of the Department of Business Administration and professor of marketing.

Led by McClung and William Stough, assistant professor of business administration, the Advisory Board will also provide the University with feedback regarding current needs of employers and the job market. Board members will have the opportunity to interact with current students, other alumni and business faculty members.

“We are excited for our students, they will benefit from the collective wealth of knowledge our alumni will bring to our business program,” said Stough. “We will be able to make necessary and impactful changes to the curriculums we are delivering based upon the feedback from our new Advisory Board.

“It was amazing that each and every one of the alumni I spoke with was excited to participate in this initiative and believe it is a great idea,” Stough continued. “The seed has been planted, and we will see what it grows into!”

The vision of the Department of Business Administration is to provide Southwestern Pennsylvania with a Christian business school that is widely recognized for delivering practical and engaging degree programs and learning opportunities that enhance the practice of business in the community, state, region and world; and its mission is to deliver high quality business programs that emphasize leadership development, foster global and multicultural awareness, and build upon a foundation in the liberal arts and humanities.

The Department of Business Administration has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) located at 11374 Strang Line Road in Lenexa, Kansas, USA.

Founded in 1849 by the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Waynesburg University is located on a traditional campus in the hills of southwestern Pennsylvania, with three additional sites located in the Pittsburgh region. The University is one of only 22 Bonner Scholar schools in the country, offering local, regional and international opportunities to touch the lives of others through service.
