Waynesburg U.’s MEd in Instructional Technology ranked a best online program

Waynesburg University’s online Master of Education (MEd) in Instructional Technology was recently ranked a Best Online Educational Technology Master’s Degree of 2023 by Forbes Advisor Education.

The University’s MEd program was one of ten recommended by Forbes Advisor Education for educators looking to pursue a master’s degree in educational technology.

“We are pleased to receive this recognition of the value of our Master of Education in Instructional Technology program,” said Dr. Devon Bowser, Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies. “This program responds to the education profession’s need for continued learning and advancement in principles of instructional technology by allowing students to quickly gain practical knowledge and skills through student-centered courses led by experienced educators.”

To determine their rankings, Forbes Advisor Education uses a strict methodology, focusing on 16 data points in the following categories: credibility, affordability, student outcomes, student experience and the application process. For this particular ranking, 119 accredited, nonprofit colleges were scored on accurate data as of January 2023.

According to the Forbes Advisor Education site, the data pulled and sourced for their rankings come from a variety of resources, including the National Center of Education Statistics, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and other third-party sources.

Waynesburg’s MEd in Instructional Technology is a 36-credit program that can be completed 100% online in as little as one year. Students have the option to pursue a Specialist Certificate within this program if they have a current Pennsylvania teaching certification. The program is accredited by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE).
